Red Ribbon Week 2010
This week at FLE was Red Ribbon Week. We said NO to drugs in many different ways. We started off the week with a school wide assembly on the playground. As a school we recited the Say No To Drugs pledged followed by students releasing red and white balloons. On Tuesday we had Hugs NOT Drugs day and students were able to bring in their favorite stuffed animals. On Wednesday we decorated lunch bags that were used for lunch on Friday. Thursday found us wearing red shirts and we culminated Red Ribbon Week with the Liberty County Drug Dog and handler visiting our school for a Pep Rally.

Mandy, Therapy Dog
This week we read Rosie, Visiting Dog. We were fortunate enough to have Mrs. Farley (our RtI and SST coordinator) bring in her working dog, Mandy. Mandy is a therapy dog.
Thanks Mrs. Farley and Mandy. We enjoyed our visit.

ABC Awards
Each marking period FLE acknowledges students with an ABC Award ceremony. The ABC Awards are given to students that excel Academically, have outstanding Behavior or have Changed for the better either through behavior or academically. Students must work hard to receive the award. Teachers are able to give each award to two students.
For the first nine weeks Shalese and Angie received the award for Academics. Lelia and Mia received the award for behavior. Congratulations ladies! Keep up the great work.

FSGA Forestry Department
Today the FSGA Forestry Department brought a "field trip" to the FLE 3rd grade classes. We learned alot about habitats, adaptations and the animals/plants that are found in Georgia. At the end of each session we were able to look various items that include animal skulls, bugs, snake skins, and animals. We were also able to pet an alligator and touch a gopher tortoise. It was a great time had by all.
